Virée classique OSM 2023
For this 10th edition, 26 indoor concerts and a hundred or so free activities for the whole family will allow you to explore a multitude of musical universes, from the great classical works to Balinese music, as well as jazz, film music, music from the Balkans or the Middle East. From different cultures, this music will evoke memories of travel or lead you into the fantastic world of tales. The OSM looks forward to celebrating summer with you and the many talented guest artists in a warm and effervescent atmosphere!
Place des Arts and the OSM celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Maison symphonique de Montréal
On September 11 and 12, 2021, Place des Arts and the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Maison symphonique de Montréal with a series of ten free short concerts and four discussions. Discover the exceptional acoustics of the Maison symphonique and enjoy an incomparable musical experience with various ensembles from the OSM, a string quartet and brass quintet from the Orchestre Métropolitain, the chamber orchestra Les Violons du Roy and the Orchestre Classique de Montréal.
Cultural Animation
Inaugurated in 2012 after major renovations, the Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme is a vast indoor public space that includes three entertainment areas: a public square, an exhibition room and a screen mosaic wall. Every year, it welcomes more than 250 artists involved in programming more than 100 free cultural activities.
Festival du Monde Arabe
The mission of the Festival du Monde Arabe de Montréal is to encourage connections and dialogue between Arab and Western cultures through the presentation of shows and events that are open to all. With its fresh, multidisciplinary works, the festival provides a space for artists and producers of all stripes to meet. The FMA is designed and produced by Alchimies, Créations et Cultures.

Francos de Montréal
Every summer, the Francos de Montréal shows us that French-language music is in excellent health! Since it was founded in 1989, the festival, managed by Équipe Spectra, has presented more than 250 shows a year, including nearly 70 shows in venues and 180 free outdoor events and concerts.
Summer Break
Take a Summer Break on the Place des Arts Esplanade! From August 19 to 28, it will be possible to attend free music and dance performances to reintroduce you to artists and the pleasure of attending outdoor shows.
Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Orchestre Métropolitain
To mark its 40th anniversary, the Orchestre Métropolitain is inviting you to two days of free musical activities with its conductor Yannick-Nézet Séguin and its musicians. Don’t delay, space is limited!

Juste pour rire MONTRÉAL
Each July, Just For Laughs MONTRÉAL brings laughter to the city’s Quartier des Spectacles with more than 400 comedians appearing at over 200 shows in venues across the city – from comedy clubs and theatres to sell-out arenas. There are even free street performances. Don’t miss out on your chance to experience the world’s largest comedy festival right here in Montréal this summer!
Just For Laughs MONTRÉAL
Just For Laughs MONTRÉAL presents hundreds of free outdoor activities alongside 250 shows in 25 downtown venues, including several in the halls of Place des Arts. It has become the world’s biggest comedy festival, attracting nearly two million visitors. With performances in both English and French (under Juste pour rire), it brings together some 1,700 artists from 19 countries. The festival’s goal? To make people happy!
Fondation de la Société de soins palliatifs à domicile
The Palliative Home-Care Society Foundation (PHCSF) collects funds to support the care and services provided free of charge by the PHCS to any person requiring palliative care who wants to live at home during the last stage of their life. Since its creation, the PHCS has treated and accompanied over 55,000 patients and their families.
Nuit blanche
On March 2, 2024, Place des Arts is going into Nuit blanche mode, in collaboration with the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Duceppe, and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM).
Family Activities and Shows
For close to 50 years, children and families have enjoyed programming designed especially for them. In addition to the Fêtes famille’s many free activities, low-cost shows are also presented for children of ages 4 to 12.
L'Art en soi Festival
The L’Art en soi Festival features evenings of dancing that introduce you to various dance styles, alongside professional dancers and musicians. You don’t even need to know how to sing and dance, all that’s required is a little curiosity and a desire to try something different. It’s free and reservations are not required.
Place des Arts Workshops
The Place des Arts Workshops provide free introductions to various disciplines of the performing arts, with professional guidance. After getting an overview of the discipline, participants are encouraged to delve into its practice right away. A group performance by the artists and participants brings the workshop to a close.
Chez Georges-Émile
Chez Georges-Émile is a public interview series, held in Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme, that introduces the great artists featured in Place des Arts’ programming. Each interview is a special, intimate 45-minute conversation. This free activity is led by charming and friendly cultural journalist Catherine Pogonat.
Place des Arts
Each year, we produce or co-produce a series of shows covering a wide range of disciplines, from theater to song, dance and even circus. By presenting these shows, we hope to help you discover emerging artists, as well as offer you concerts with artists you already love.

The Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme (formerly the Hall des Pas perdus) is a public space where millions of people pass through every year. Future Stars’ Grand Premiere
The 13th edition of the annual benefit event of the Fondation de la Place des Arts will be held on Tuesday, June 4, at Théâtre Maisonneuve. The evening–at which the performing arts and culinary delights are brought together to the great joy of all involved–brings together more than 500 guests from the business sector and cultural milieu each year to support access to the arts and culture.
Danse Danse
Danse Danse, an associate presenter at Place des Arts, invites dance lovers to discover the best of contemporary dance from here and abroad in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles. Each season, Danse Danse presents a program of some dozen productions in the Théâtre Maisonneuve, Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier and Cinquième Salle, proudly contributing to Montréal’s international reputation as a metropolis of movement. Since 2022, Danse Danse has coproduced a uniquely unifying event as a season opener: the JOAT International Street Dance Festival. This week-long program of free events and activities on the Place des Arts Esplanade features more than 200 artists

Adapted Services
Find out about the range of services that are in place to make your Place des Arts experience a comfortable one: reserved seats in each of our venues, wheelchair service and assistance to get where you need to go inside our venues, reserved parking spaces for people with identification stickers, booster seats for kids, and an audio system for people who are hard of hearing.
Youth Adaptive Arts
Youth Adaptive Arts is an inclusive program that aims to foster access to the performing arts for young people with functional limitations, or with social maladjustments or learning difficulties.
Indoor Parking
