Exhibitions / Digital Works
Place des Arts offers an incomparable showcase for emerging artists and new forms of artistic expression through its exhibition room and its various digital spaces.
All year long, Place des Arts presents temporary exhibitions produced in collaboration with a variety of partners, acting as a major showcase for emerging visual and media artists, notably through a partnership with UQAM.
Place des Arts offers an incomparable showcase for emerging artists and new forms of artistic expression through its various digital spaces.
A mosaic made up of 35 digital screens and light tubes, the only device of its kind, is housed in the vast indoor public space at Place des Arts. Innovative, inspiring, and singular works, custom created for the mosaic, are presented all year long. The screen mosaic allows Place des Arts to showcase excellence in digital creativity, notably through a partnership with the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec.
These various indoor spaces normally welcome several tens of thousands of visitors every day.
Partnership with the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec
Every year, Place des Arts, in collaboration with the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, puts out a call for digital artwork projects to be presented in the Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme.
For its 5th edition, this partnership between the Conseil and Place des Arts is allowing us to support and stimulate the creation of digital works, offer artists a stimulating presentation platform, and contribute to the visibility and presentation of new digital works.
Partnership with UQAM
Several multimedia creations are presented at Place des Arts as part of a partnership with UQAM.
For 9 years now, whether presented on the mosaic or on adjoining spaces, the student works have always been of very high quality and are easily comparable to professional productions from renowned studios. Seen by everyone making their way through Place des Arts, these works serve as magnificent calling cards for young visual and media arts graduates.
