Entretiens arts et société
The Entretiens arts et société invite stakeholders from various social and cultural spheres to share their points of view on a variety of topics.
These lively talks may deal with shows and activities on the program at Place des Arts, or with current topics of interest that resonate through the performing arts milieu and society as a whole.
In recent years, Place des Arts’ Entretiens arts et société have dealt with issues that have been quite varied but always very relevant, such as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the cultural milieu, the history of civil rights, the cultural vitality of Black communities in Montreal, and how the Québécois identity is reflected in Quebec rap.
Dynamic cultural stakeholders who are highly involved in their sectors of activity—such as Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Carla Beauvais, Jacques Primeau, Rhodnie Désir, Michel Marc Bouchard, Odile Joannette, and Will Prosper—have taken part in these discussions in turn.
Place des Arts’ Entretiens arts et société are usually held before an audience and then webcast at a later date. A few discussions are still available upon request on the Place des Arts... à la maison page.
