Fondation de la Place des Arts
Art is not an innate choice. This is why the Fondation is determined to support the activities of the Access-to-the-Performing-Arts program led by Place des Arts.
To love art and make it part of your life, you must first be made aware of it. The Fondation’s philanthropic efforts are founded on the conviction that art enriches the relationship that people, particularly young people, have with life. By exploring worlds based on creativity, imagination, sensitivity and aesthetics, they open themselves up to new languages that lead to new ways of addressing their own worlds.
Make arts and culture more accessible by supporting awareness, educational and creative projects initiated by Place des Arts.
Arts and culture are essential to our development and fulfillment as individuals, as a community, and as a society.
The Fondation de la Place des Arts is a non-profit organization created in 2006. Over the years, the efforts and investment of each person involved toward raising awareness and making art publicly accessible have borne fruit. To date, we have raised more than $2.8 million toward a multitude of artistic and cultural activities through Place des Arts’ Access to the Performing Arts program.
The Fondation is particularly proud of Place des Arts’ activities for young people, including the Place des Arts Junior series and the Educational Program. For ten years, the series has reached thousands of young people every year through some fifteen free or affordably priced shows. Since the Educational Program was created in 2013, it has reached nearly 2,000 high school students through a cultural mediation project that can be integrated into the school curriculum and that gives young people and others the opportunity to meet and talk with an artist both in class and at Place des Arts.
