Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Place des Arts has suspended all shows and other public activities until further notice. As a result, the Scottish Family Celebration scheduled on April 26 has been cancelled.
A typically Scottish family celebration will take place at Place des Arts, featuring several different events:
- Activities: A rally through the corridors at Place des Arts, a Bibli-Arts library filled with books about the performing arts, and a craft activity in which participants can create a family crest.
- Workshops: Two dance workshops will introduce participants to the rhythms of Scotland through various forms of Scottish dance.
- Screenings: Two special screenings of Norman McLaren’s animated films.
- Performance: A performance by the Black Watch, the oldest Scottish regiment in Canada, bringing the event to a close and celebrating the colours of Scotland to the sound of bagpipes.
