Place des Arts: Montreal’s not-to-be-missed holiday-season destination
Montreal, November 29, 2024 – In the spirit of the holiday season, Place des Arts was delighted to bring its public spaces to life last evening by offering a magical moment to both spectators and passers-by.
Damien Robitaille surprised them with the gift of a 30-minute piano performance, providing a foretaste of his show scheduled for December 21 at Cinquième Salle in the company of the Orchestre national de jazz. The audience thoroughly enjoyed his mini-recital of tunes and songs, including one of his Christmas classics, “Tu m’emballes.”
This incredible present to the public was also the kickoff for holiday season programming at Place des Arts, comprising more than 20 shows!

Pub Royal, the musical comedy of Les Cowboys Fringants, transports you to the craziest bar in Quebec. Created using several of the band’s biggest hits and new songs as well, it features seven actors and singers, seven dancers and six circus artists that will blow you away!

Un P’tit Show de Noël d’Étienne Coppée
December 18 and 19 | Cinquième Salle
For the occasion, Étienne Coppée reunites with his trusted musicians Flavie Melançon, Raphaël Pépin-Tanguay and Bruno St-Laurentto assemble, just for this show, an extended family with Salomé Leclerc and Elkahna Talbi. A family gathering laced with laughter, singalongs, poetry, Christmas magic and winter nostalgia.
Damien Robitaille & the Orchestre national de Jazz

Be transported to the rich and varied musical universe of Damien Robitaille, and get to enjoy a performance of both greatest hits and Christmas classics. The singer-songwriter promises a magical evening marked by emotion and good humor.
Several other Christmas song shows are being presented, like La tournée Western Denuy starring Claude Meunier and his band, Vertiges en solos | Des airs de Noël and David Marino Noël.

Holiday Melodies with Yannick Nézet-Séguin
December 5 and 6, 2024
Following the resounding success of the first edition in 2022, Holiday Melodies has become one of the Orchestre Métropolitain’s most anticipated events. More than your typical Christmas concert, it’s an occasion for different genres and cultures to come together. With the Taurey Butler Trio, the voices of Mélissa Bédard and Kim Richardson and the Choeur Métropolitain under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, the concert will feature a convergence of Québécois, American and European traditions with jazz and classical styles. Antoine Gratton’s arrangements harmonize memories from all these musical worlds that contribute to Quebec’s unique culture.
Bond Symphonique

Featuring the great voices of Véronic DiCaire and Benoît McGinnis, this concert will plunge you into the iconic sounds of 007 as 48 musicians perform the original tracks from James Bond classics like From Russia with Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball and Skyfall. A gripping experience courtesy of the FILM harmonique Orchestra under the baton of Francis Choinière.
A terrific selection of concerts awaits you, with Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, Le Messie de Handel avec Bernard Labadie, Hodie!, Un piano pour Noël, ’Tis the Season with Kent Nagano, Souvenirs de Noël, Kent Nagano Meets Le vent du Nord and Celebrations in Songs and Music.

Sharing the stage with elves Trémaline and Pamalin, the real Santa Nicolas Noël narrates and sings his wonderful stories in a magical ambiance. With a staging designed for the entire family, everyone will be charmed by the catchy songs and their infectious energy.
