Rolando Villazón returns to fill the Maison symphonique with his ringing voice and elegant colours. Respighi’s elegant symphonic poem Pines of Rome takes us on a musical tour of places and moments in the eternal city, from the Villa Borghese to the Capitolini, during the day as well as at night, in peace time and in war. For Strauss, the German folk hero known as Till Owlglass can be personified in sound by a horn and a clarinet. The symphonic poem Till Eulenspiegel depicts the misadventures and pranks of the mischievous Till.
The vocal works are to be announced at a later date.
With the participation of students from the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal.
