Orchestre Métropolitain

The Orchestre Métropolitain, composed mainly of musicians educated in Québec, is devoted to broadening the reach of classical music from home and afar. Under the artistic direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin since 2000, the Orchestre Métropolitain’s renown has steadily grown—in Montréal, in Québec, in Canada and internationally.

Each season, the Orchestre Métropolitain presents ten classical music concerts at the Maison symphonique at Place des Arts. Bold, authentic, devoted and passionate, the Métropolitain also aims to be accessible to all audiences.

The international calibre of the Orchestre Métropolitain rests on the talent and reputation of its conductor and artistic director, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, as well as on the enthusiasm of internationally reputed young conductors and soloists who perform with the ensemble.
