From September 8 to 10, the Play series' five double programs carve out space for experimentation inside Place des Arts’ Cinquième Salle. Play highlights the exploratory, visceral and playful character of contemporary artists in digital art, audiovisual creation, and electronic music.
Vigliensoni – Clastic Music LIVE A/V
Vigliensoni is a Montréal-based musician and producer from Valparaiso, Chile. His work is informed by formal musical training and extensive studies in the design of new musical interfaces and music recommendation algorithms. For this edition, he will be premiering Clastic Music, a performance built upon improvisation and the use of rhythmic samples processed through deep neural network architectures.

Multidisciplinary DJs ZANDOLI II join forces with eclectic backing band THE WASAFIRI for Mirroring Shadows, an audiovisual journey into the past, present, and future of their Afro-Caribbean identities. Pulling aural memories from sub-genres of Afro-house (including Amapiano, South African House, Tribal, Afrobeat), the sizzling diasporic musical and visual elements shadow and mirror each other as they unfold.
