Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the Bach’s Mass in B minor concert scheduled on December 5 and 6, 2020 has been cancelled. Ticket holders will be contacted by email about the procedures to be implemented.
All of Bach’s splendour in one composition. Intended to be a finely chiselled portrait of Bach’s style, the Mass in B minor was written, polished and perfected over a nearly 30-year period. Popular for its poignancy, it is a universal gem.
One need not have faith to be transported by this masterpiece by Johann Sebastian Bach. The symmetry of the movements, the complex architecture, the captivating counterpoint and the power of voices are a testament to the man’s tremendous genius. As someone who loved reading scores himself, Bach did not compose his Mass for enjoyment during his own lifetime, but he composed it for future generations to experience the power of an 18th-century mass. Mission accomplished.
