Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Place des Arts has suspended all shows and other public activities until further notice. As a result, the Duke Ellington - Black, Brown & Beige concert of the Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal scheduled on May 9 has been cancelled. Ticket holders will be reimbursed directly.

Under the direction of Ron Di Lauro, and with the participation of singer Ranee Lee, l’Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal will deliver the most ambitious composition of Duke Ellington, "Black, Brown and Beige". According to Ellington's description, he wrote this jazz symphony for his first concert at Carnegie Hall on January 23, 1943, as "a parallel to the history of the Negro in America."
