Orchestre Métropolitain - Youth Spirit: Music at the Movies

Maison symphonique April 6, 2019

Like the broom in Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, the OM will come to life under the baton of Nicolas Ellis in this cinematic concert. Soprano Catherine St-Arnaud will perform the Jewel Song, which everyone knows from Tintin’s The Castafiore Emerald adventure. The atmosphere will take a more somber turn when oboist Mathias Leclerc and violinist Eva Lesage perfom famous tunes from the films The Mission and Schindler’s List.

ROSSINI: William Tell, Overture
DUKAS: The Sorcerer's Apprentice
*TCHAIKOVSKY: The Sleeping Beauty, waltz
MORRICONE: Gabriel’s Oboe
WILLIAMS: Theme from Schindler’s List
GOUNOD: Faust: Jewel Song
*GRIEG: Peer Gynt: Morning Mood – In the Hall of the Mountain King

* Presented only at the Maison symphonique
