The 4th edition of Micro ouvert autochtone event will take place on November 9 and 10 at Place des Arts, from noon to 6 pm.

Micro ouvert autochtone is a large gathering showcasing Indigenous cultures, both traditional and contemporary.

Curator and Inuit throat singer Nina Segalowitz has put together a truly people-focused artistic project, giving participants an opportunity to get to know each other better.

Curator of the Event

In the purest tradition of Inuit culture, Nina Segalowitz (Inuvialuit and Dìne) has given regal performances of Kattajak (Inuit throat singing for more than 25 years). Throat singing has been practised by the Inuit for thousands of years, and their interpretations are Inuit women’s prized moments of competition and entertainment. Nina has performed in many countries (France, Columbia, Chile, Luxembourg, Belgium, Italy, USA) with many groups and singers like with Ariane Moffat, the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and Bobby McFerrin. She has been actively involved in Oktoecho projects since 2010.
