Originally from Iqaluit, the Jerry Cans combine traditional Inuit throat singing with folk and country. The musicians sing in Inuktitut, the language of the Inuit people, and address “the challenges and beauty of life in the Far North.” In 2016, they launched their album Inuusiq / Life on the Aakuluk Music label, founded by members of the group to support and encourage Inuit and Indigenous musicians.
