Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Place des Arts has suspended all shows and other public activities until further notice. However, beyond this suspension of activities, certain productions have been obliged to postpone or cancel their shows. Festival de Lanaudière has had to cancel its 2020 season. Ticket holders will be contacted by email about the procedures to be implemented.

A prince among European orchestras at the pinnacle of international renown, the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin has received multiple awards for one of the largest discographies of our time. This celebrated musical phalanx from Germany invites audiences on an extraordinary journey to the world of Beethoven. For their only concerts of the season in North America, the ensemble presents the Bonn master’s complete cycle of symphonies, which, of course, includes the timeless Fifth, as well as the music of his contemporaries and forerunners. Three concerts packed with fascinating discoveries will illuminate the work of one of the greatest musical geniuses in history.

PROGRAM:
Carl Philipp Emanuel BACH
Symphony in G major Wq 180
Paul WRANITZKY Grande sinfonie caractéristique pour la paix avec la République française in C minor, Op. 31
Ludwig van BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 3 in E flat major, Op. 55 “Eroica”
