The Halloween Ball | 6 and over
Three artists (two musicians and a dancer) gather on stage to invite young spectators to the Halloween Ball, where they get to dance to the theme holiday’s musical classics. At the same time they’ll enter a fascinating world featuring the northern lights, howling at the moon,
and a discussion of fear and transformation – surrounded by fantastic animals, witches that heal, and creatures that are bewitched. Enjoy this celebration of Halloween, staged by Jeunesses Musicales Canada, on October 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. at Cinquième Salle.
Lionel and Mary | 7 and over
The company Rigoletta presents a journey into the past that aims both to introduce La Bolduc and Lionel Daunais to young music fans and to arouse nostalgia in the parents and grandparents who attend the show with them. The two artists will be revisiting greatest hits like “La tourtière” and “J’ai un bouton su’l bout d’la langue” in new arrangements. They have this idea of writing a comical song, and will do whatever it takes to get there. A blend of classical singing and traditional Québec music is on the bill for November 17, 2024, at 11:00
a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at Cinquième Salle.
Returns Department | 4 and over
In this circus show, created by the Kif-Kif Sisters, a door opens on a store’s returns department, where twin sisters excitedly inspect the merchandise returned by disgruntled customers. On their conveyor belt they discover all sorts of malfunctioning objects and manufacturing defects. Unable to help themselves, they start playing with the articles – which play tricks on them! Be part of this work day transformed into a true world of entertainment on January 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m at Cinquième Salle.
Nora the Globetrotter | 4 and over
Nora the Globetrotter is a puppet who has extraordinary adventures! The world in which she reveals herself to her young audience is both poetic and curious, the setting composed of hand-drawn images on a roll of paper. Merging visual storytelling and live music, Nora’s world comes alive through the play of light and the drawings from a crankie box, an ancestral technique that children born in the digital age will find intriguing. Staged by Collectif Richmond, the show, presented at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on February 2, 2025, in the Cinquième Salle, will surprise and captivate inquisitive little kids!
The Wizard of Oz | 5 and over
Théâtre Advienne que Pourra revisits L. Frank Baum’s famous tale to present an enchanting musical journey. Families are invited to (re)discover the world imagined by Dorothy, where anything’s possible. The Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, the Fairy and the Witch will of course be part of this fabulous voyage along the yellow brick road that leads to their meeting with the Wizard of Oz. Will the Wizard be able to grant their wishes? The answer may not lie at the end of the road, but in the songs that get sung along the way! Enjoy the adventure with your young ones on March 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. or on March 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. at Cinquième Salle.
