In accordance with government directives, Place des Arts has suspended its activities until further notice. These measures have been put into effect due to circumstances relating to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic which are beyond our control. Consequently, the Vasily Petrenko and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet concert has been cancelled. Ticket holders will be reimbursed directly.

One of today’s most prominent violinists, Gil Shaham performs Bartók’s dazzlingly virtuosic Violin Concerto no. 2, under the baton of Vasily Petrenko. A rising star of the new generation of conductors, Petrenko also conducts Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, one of the composer’s most famous works, and the overture to the opera Maskarade by Danish composer Nielsen. The latter composer's Clarinet Concerto showcases OSM Principal Clarinet Todd Cope.
