Founded by oud player and composer Walid Zairi, Talween (meaning colouring in Arabic) is an aptly named group! Presenting a collection of highly pictorial musical works, Walid Zairi applies his experience as a musician and globe-trotter to create paintings on blank canvases. These musical pictures arouse the senses with melodies that are both intense and gentle, creating a subtle mix of world music, Oriental sounds and jazzy beats. Perpetually exploring new musical horizons, he invites the world’s colours to blend with his favourite instrument. An opportunity to discover and rediscover the oud in a different light!
