Distant, fascinating Asia shines in this concert of works by two illustrious Asian composers, including the Concerto for cello by Tan Dun inspired by the soundtrack of the famous movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which won him a Grammy Award. Revealing Puccini’s interest in Asian culture, celebrated arias from Madama Butterfl y and Turandot will transport you respectively to Japan and China.
