Due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, the first round of the Concours musical international de Montréal scheduled from May 25 to 27, 2021 (initially planned from May 4 to 6, 2020) has been cancelled. Ticket holders will be reimbursed directly. However, we are pleased to announce that the CMIM 19th edition will be entirely online and free from April 26 to May 14, 2021.

The Concours musical international de Montréal is held every year and presents three disciplines; piano, voice, and violin, in a three-year rotation. This year will be a tribute to piano! During these 10 days of concert, 24 of the brightest talents from around the world will vie for $150,000 in prizes and grants.

For this first round of the CMIM, the 24 selected pianists will perform at the Bourgie Hall during 45-minute long recitals. They must play at least one piece by Johann Sebastian Bach during the first round or semifinal.

This round will take place over 6 sessions, with the jury announcing the 12 semifinalists at the end of the final session. Semifinals will occur on may 7 and 8 at Bourgie Hall.
