Lebanese singer Oumaima El Khalil will be back in Montréal to perform at the 20th Festival du Monde Arabe with the great emotion that has led to her renown. Faithful to her long journey, this disciple of Marcel Khalifé who later achieved fame alongside him with the group Al Mayadeen, will sing lyrics, both committed and poignant, in her soft, ethereal voice.
An artist with a career rich in outstanding artistic encounters with renowned composers, Oumaima has sung the words of famous poets including Mahmoud Dawish, Badr Chaker El Sayyab, Talal Haidar, Chawk Ibzaï and many more. Accompanied by pianist and composer Hani Siblini, as well as by accomplished Montréal musicians, Oumaima El Khalil promises an evening filled with commitment and nostalgia, an ode to life, love and resistance.
