This one-man show is an adaptation of the novel « The True Story of AhQ, wirtten by Lu Xun who is considered China’s greatest modern writer.
The story unfolds in a cold rainy night with a bleak autumn wind. Ah Quei is beheaded for being a member of the Chinese Revolutionary Party, and his soul begins wandering through Weizhuang, the town where he lived.
Feeling embittered, the spirits of the dead man look back on his short life and try to understand the cause of his miserable fate with no result.
Finally, the spirits, self-questioning in confusion and anger, sigh helplessly about life between Heaven and Earth.
