The Dutch ensemble Calefax consists of a versatile quintet of musicians who play reed instruments (oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, saxophone, bassoon). True pioneers of the genre, they have been touring the world for over three decades, and now come to the Amphitheatre for their Canadian premiere, offering the Festival audience an array of music ranging from virtuosic Baroque works to the jazzy sounds of Debussy and Gershwin.
