Franchezzo, a somewhat conceited individual full of himself, one day meets a woman with whom he falls madly in love with. He, thus, forgets his self-centeredness in her company. Ironically, he feels unworthy of the love that this woman has for him. Unfortunately, before he gets to know her intimately, by happenchance, he loses his life.
Through his adventures in the afterlife, Franchezzo continues to remember her love and she, in turn, also feels that love emanating from him. Despite the physical separation their Platonic love endures the passage of time. The audience will witness a lasting love that survives death.
