With his kamancheh, a plucked string instrument among the oldest in the Orient, he soars into a frantic dialogue with the Persian percussions to the rhythm of melodies that are sometimes melancholic and sometimes intense and fiery. The duo weaves a unique musical fresco illustrating the beauty, diversity and richness of the Kurdish heritage.
A native of Iranian Kurdistan, Shahriyar Jamshidi has devoted his artistic career to preserving and conveying the Kurdish musical heritage.
