Double bill
Opening the show, the outstanding Canadian saxophonist and flutist Jane Bunnett and her album Maqueque, on which she collaborated with five talented Cuban musicians. Next, it’s the triumphant Festival return after a 14-year absence by one of the grandmasters of jazz Afro-Latin jazz trumpet. A onetime protégé of the immortal Dizzy Gillespie, this virtuoso has produced nothing but magic from his horn for over 50 years.
