Adaptive Arts Program

Art, an incredible engine of transformation

Launched in the 2018-2019 season, the Adaptive Arts Program gives adults with specific needs the opportunity to discover and explore the performing arts in a dynamic way: through practical and participatory workshops.

While fostering access to the arts for individuals with mental health issues, physical limitations, or experiencing social exclusion, these cultural mediation activities also provide them with a flexible and open space that is conducive to the expression and development of their creativity. The activities create opportunities to meet and speak with professional artists. Ultimately, they encourage the participants’ social and cultural inclusion.

In the 2019-2020 season, the Adaptive Arts Program is offering 4 projects centred on dance, singing, theatre, and writing. Each project consists of a series of practical introduction-to-the-performing-arts workshops led by an experienced professional artist-mediator, taking a human-centred, user-friendly approach with a focus on discussion, observation, and the creative process.
