The Montreal Chamber Music Festival is dedicated to organizing chamber music concerts and events with rising star musicians and internationally renowned chamber music artists.
Since 1995, more than 100,000 spectators have attended more than 200 concerts and recitals presented by the Montreal Chamber Music Festival. The Festival has won many awards and distinctions over the years, along with its founder, cellist and educator Denis Brott. As artistic director, Denis Brott works to maintain the vision and mission of a festival reputed for its intimate, friendly and accessible feel, while providing a program that aims for excellence and innovation.
Renowned artists, ensembles and orchestras
Over the years, many internationally renowned soloists, musicians and ensembles have given concerts and recitals, including Jon Vickers, Oliver Jones, Alain Lefèvre, André Laplante, James Ehnes, Cameron Carpenter, the Swingle Singers, the Canadian Brass and the Guarneri, Tokyo, Emerson and St. Lawrence string quartets.
The Festival has also introduced Montréalers to many new talents, with début concerts from musicians who are now widely known, such as Canadian pianist Jan Lisiecki, Conrad Tao, Jonathan Crow, and the Afiara Quartet, winner of the prestigious Banff International String Quartet Competition.
