For over 25 years, SACEF has given emerging francophone singers the chance to perform at Place des Arts. These shows are given as part of two concert series: the Week-ends de la chanson Québecor and Ma première Place des Arts. All shows are presented in Salle Claude-Léveillée at Place des Arts.
MA PREMIÈRE PLACE DES ARTS
The Ma première Place des Arts competition invites singers, singer-songwriter-composers and musical groups to take part in a truly professional singing experience. It has served as a jumping-off point for numerous up-and-coming artists by giving them a chance to appear on television and receive mentorship.
Many artists, including Nicola Ciccone, Corneille, Ima, Lynda Thalie and Philippe Brach, made their débuts on stage at Salle Claude-Léveillée.
WEEK-ENDS DE LA CHANSON QUÉBECOR
The Week-ends de la chanson Québecor series provides francophone song artists access to Salle Claude-Léveillée to perform in the professional environment of Place des Arts in favourable conditions. Through the Découvertes series, SACEF also offers some twenty emerging artists each year the technical and promotional support they need to present their shows.
