As an international biennale, the Montréal/New Musics Festival (MNM) provides a crucial forum for new music. Concerts, shows and activities happen at a frenzied pace for ten days during the months of February and March in Montréal. Presented since 2003, over the years the MNM has become North America’s biggest gathering for contemporary music.
The Festival is an initiative of Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ), the first organization in the country to devote itself to disseminating contemporary music in order to promote composers from home and abroad.
