Essential information to attend your show in the best conditions.

  • Out of respect for both the performers and the audience, latecomers and those who leave the hall during a performance will be redirected to the closest available seats at an opportune moment during the performance. Certain exceptions may also apply at the producer’s request. Latecomers’ tickets cannot be exchanged or reimbursed.

  • No, the use of cameras and other electronic devices is strictly prohibited during shows.

  • Children under the age of 12 cannot attend shows at Place des Arts by themselves. Any child under 12 years old must be accompanied by someone of age 16 or older.

  • All spectators, including infants (even if they are not occupying a seat) and children of any age, must be in possession of a ticket in order to attend a show.

    Children under the age of two who remain seated on the lap of an accompanying adult are admitted free of charge to any show presented at Place des Arts, unless the show’s producer decides otherwise. These children must nevertheless at all times be in possession of a ticket, available only at the Place des Arts box office. These tickets do not have seat numbers printed on them. It is also important to have a piece of identification for the child, in order to prove, if required, that the child is under the age of two.

  • Systematic checking of all bags, body searches, or the use of a metal detector, may be carried out at a producer’s or artist’s request, or depending on the circumstances, as our security measures undergo continuous adjustment and fine-tuning. 

    When such measures are scheduled to occur, Place des Arts or the producer makes sure to notify the clientele for the show in question, notably in a pre-show email, so that spectators may plan their visit accordingly.

  • Yes, up to a certain size.

    For security reason, only backpacks that can be place under a seat are accepted. Bags measuring larger than 45 cm (18 in) x 35 cm (13 in) x 20 cm (8 in) are forbidden.

    • Any bag measuring larger than 45 cm (18 in) x 35 cm (13 in) x 20 cm (8 in).
    • Video cameras and audio equipment, or any other devices that can be used to record images and sound.
    • Food or beverages from outside.
    • Drinks, food, and alcoholic beverages — other than the products available at the lobby bars in Place des Arts’ performance halls —, cans and glass bottles.
    • Any noise-emitting items: bells, horns, etc.
    • Laser pointers.
    • Banners, flags or signs that may obstruct the view of other spectators.
    • Any weapons: penknives, knives, blades, any other bladed weapons, blunt objects, and objects considered dangerous or high-risk.
    • Any aerosol cans, capsicum: pepper spray.
    • Any animal.

    Individuals possessing items of this type will be denied access to the hall, unless they agree to voluntarily hand over the items to security staff. The Société does not return these items after the performance.

    Please note that we do not have a space where spectators can check items other than clothing. Clothing (coats, jackets, umbrellas, etc.) can be left in the cloakrooms in our performance halls when in operation.

  • For any objects lost in a Place des Arts concert hall or in the Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme, please go to the security office or call 514 285-4202.

  • No, bathrooms are available to ticket-holders only within the show venues starting when doors open, meaning 45 minutes before show time.

  • Yes. All venues at Place des Arts are equipped with an audio system that enables people who are hearing-impaired to tune in to the show’s signal. Simply bring your portable radio or music device with headphones, or request a radio on loan by asking an employee inside the venue (identification will be required).

  • No, you cannot purchase or request posters of past shows at Place des Arts. However, you may contact a show’s producer to make your request.

  • No, we do not offer guided tours for the moment.

  • Yes, Le Seingalt, Place des Champs, and Van Houtte restaurants are located directly within Place des Arts, and there are several more restaurants just steps away. For more information, visit our Restaurants ans shops page.

  • Yes, Place des Arts has an indoor parking lot. The entrance is located at 1450 Saint-Urbain Street, Montréal, Québec, H2X 2M5.

  • You have several options:

    • By metro: simply get off at the Place des Arts station on the green line and make your way to your concert hall without ever stepping outside.
    • By bus: some ten different bus routes stop near Place des Arts, making it easy to get here.
    • By bike: there are several self-service bike terminals and bike stands located close to Place des Arts during the season.
    • By car: think ahead and purchase your parking ticket in advance to guarantee your spot!

  • The best way to find out about all of the shows taking place in our performance halls is through the Programming section on our website. You can search by discipline, producer, date, etc. There is no print version of our events program available, given the number of shows added on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
