Orchestre national de jazz de Montréal 2024-2025 season will end in style with new clarinet star Virginia Frigault-McDonald performing works by Igor Stravinsky (Ebony Concerto), Leonard Bernstein (Prelude, Fugue and Riffs), Morton Gould (Derivations) and a world premiere by Jean-Nicolas Trottier (Virginia suite for clarinet) written especially for her.
Virginia has already performed in all Toronto's major jazz venues, and recently toured Europe. She is one of the few jazz musicians to remain faithful to traditional jazz music. Her mastery of technique is superb, but what will captivate you is her artistic and intelligent expression in her solos.
