Winner of a 2024 Juno award, the Orchestre classique de Montréal commemorates the fifth anniversary of the death of the great Quebec bass Joseph Rouleau, with a moving concert of excerpts from the most famous operas by Mozart, Verdi, Bizet, Delibes, Offenbach and Wagner. The concert will feature four renowned Canadian opera singers, accompanied by the OCM in symphonic formation. It's an exciting evening of opera not to be missed!
This final concert of the 84th season will feature the wonderful soloists: Aline Kutan (soprano), Mireille Lebel (mezzo-soprano), Éric Laporte (tenor) and Philippe Sly (bass-baritone), and will also mark the culmination of Jacques Lacombe's first season as the OCM’s new Artistic Director.
The OCM is also delighted to welcome the young Innu soprano named Radio-Canada’s revelation, Elisabeth St-Gelais, and pianist Louise Pelletier for a pre-concert recital at 6:30 p.m. in the foyer of the Maison symphonique, thanks to the collaboration of Jeunesses Musicales Canada, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary.
