The lively rhythms of South Africa are coming to Place des Arts for the very first time. A long hoped for and highly anticipated visit by Step Afrika and its legendary “step dancing.”
World renowned for its percussive dances and blend of African sounds, Step Afrika has performed in more than 60 countries since it was founded in 1994. With 18 full-time artists, the troupe uses the stage as a means of expression, combining songs, stories, and humour in its rhythmic dances. Its shows are participatory, with audience members encouraged to get up and move their bodies to the rhythm of the percussion.
Step Afrika’s performances are much more than mere shows, the troupe creates a thrilling and unifying experience everywhere it goes!
