Let’s create, let’s move, and let’s play during School Break! With magic, circus arts, and music in the spotlight, our various public spaces will be transformed into open play areas, filling the venue with festivities.

A host of free activities are on the program, with something to entertain everyone in the family: musical performances, circus arts, crafts, and cooking workshops, and more. A perfect day combining culture and gourmet pleasure!

PROGRAMMING:

Rythmo-Rigolo Show

Let your body itself become an instrument, learning the basics by following our wild lead percussionists. Hitting, scratching, shaking, rubbing, and clashing—so many ways to produce sounds and master percussion in a fun way!

40-minute show presented every day at 1 PM and 3 PM.

Circus Workshop

An incursion into the wild and crazy world of the circus where children will have an opportunity to learn tightrope walking, juggling, and acrobatics, guided by professionals from the Verdun Circus School.

Craft Workshop

Children are invited to try their hand at costume design, creating their own Dorothy or their own version of the Scarecrow. Inspired by the images used by Sarah Balleux of Théâtre Advienne que Pourra, the costume designer for The Wizard of Oz, kids can bring this classic tale to life in their own way.

United Chefs Workshop

It’s time to roll up your sleeves and take a hands-on approach! Come contribute to the mission of La Tablée des Chefs during this family activity. Work together to produce bags of pancake mix, which will then be redistributed to local organizations: Passages, Le Sac à Dos, Centre d'Amitié Autochtone de Montréal Inc., and Alima, Centre de nutrition sociale périnatale. All participating families will also get to keep a bag of their own delicious mix so they can treat themselves to a sweet brunch at home.

Seek and Find Charlie the mice

Let’s go looking for lost mice throughout Place des Arts so they can be brought back to their safe haven. A fun and entertaining activity that gives participants the chance to win four tickets for the first youth show of the 2025-2026 season.

Roaming Entertainment

Throughout School Break, circus artists will liven up Place des Arts’ public areas with a variety of dynamic performances.

Reading Corner

A comfortable and quiet place will be made available to participants, filled with children’s books. Settle in on comfortable rugs and cushions!
