Michael Spyres simply conquered his Lanaudière public at his debut here in 2019 with the beauty of his tone, the sophistication of his style, his sovereign technique—and a heart as big as the world… If there are few singers today who can claim to rival this American tenor, his compatriot Lawrence Brownlee is one of them. Would there be a battle of the stars on our horizon? Not at all! Rather, vocal fireworks such as one rarely hears in one’s lifetime, a loving tribute to Rossini by a trio of gifted singers that also includes the fabulous Quebec mezzo, Rihab Chaieb.
