Artificial intelligence is developing at a dizzying speed. So much so that experts around the world are reminding us of the importance of legislating and regulating it at national and global levels.
In the world of the arts, it raises many questions. Can AI create better than humans do? Can it be used in an ethical way? Is it a valuable tool… or an enemy of our culture?
As she will soon be presenting the play Une vie intelligente at Duceppe, playwright, screenwriter, and actress Dominique Leclerc will shed some light on this issue. With an interest in the interaction between humans and AI systems, Dave Anctil, a philosophy and artificial intelligence teacher at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, will also take part in the discussion. Alongside them, CBC/Radio-Canada producer Chloé Sondervost will share her point of view as someone who is passionate about digital culture, which she has highlighted in several of her shows. And finally, Laurence Grondin-Robillard, an associate professor at the School of Media and a doctoral student in Communication at the Université du Québec à Montréal, will speak on recommendation algorithms, information disorders, and content moderation.
