Place des Arts is participating in the major art project Les Visages de Montréal, which is part of downtown Montreal’s summertime initiative Les aventures du cœur de l'Île. This public art installation features thousands of portraits in the form of mosaics that will grace windows and buildings in the downtown core. This mural is also part of the Inside Out project by French artist JR.
Recognizing the efforts of those who work in the shadows, making sure that artists and audiences can come together, Place des Arts has chosen to shine a spotlight on its artisans and employees. Portraits of some 80 of these individuals will be part of the giant mosaic on display in the windows of Théâtre Maisonneuve’s foyer until September!
