Leges Motus (The laws of motion) is an animated video created by multimedia artists Dark Matters (Denmark). This piece is inspired by Edward Muybridge's pioneering work on animal movement and adapted to the specific context of the Espace culturel Georges-Émile-Lapalme at Place des Arts, offering a mirror image of the pedestrians circulating there. The artwork acts as an "inverted x-ray,” adding, not eliminating layers. Each visual variation offers a different dimension, another reality. The installation’s 35 screens act like distorting prisms, directing visitors' attention to the different worlds.
