In accordance with government directives, Place des Arts has suspended its activities until further notice. These measures have been put into effect due to circumstances relating to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic which are beyond our control. Consequently, Le Vent du Nord & Breabach show on April 18 has been cancelled. Ticket holders will be contacted by email about the procedures to be implemented.
After having toured together 10 years ago, Scottish band Breabach and Québécois group Le Vent du Nord are appearing on a double bill as part of the Printemps écossais.
Breabach continue to build their reputation of being at the forefront of the UK’s world and roots music scene with performances across the world throughout 2019 and with the release of their 6th album ‘Frenzy of the Meeting’. Their unique musicianship, combining twin bagpipes, fiddle, bass and guitar with Gaelic vocals and step dance has won them fans across the globe.
Le Vent du Nord is an outstanding ambassador of francophone culture, a driving force in Quebec’s progressive folk movement and a leading group in the province’s trad music revival. From stripped-down a cappella singing to sophisticated full-band arrangements, this quintet of singers and multi-instrumentalists takes the listener on a remarkable musical journey.
A double bill that promises to get your toes tapping!
