Get Down Sisters Project | August 29, 12:00 p.m.
The Get Down Sisters Project, initiated by Breaking Canada and led by Canadian B-girls GI-JK, Momo and Cleopatra, is dedicated to empowering and uniting women across Canada through breaking. The group invites you to attend a breaking cypher – a circle of artists where participants take turns performing freestyle rounds. The cypher will be followed by a discussion.

JOAT Prelims Breaking | August 29, 4:30 p.m.
Come and see the pre-selection battle for dancers wishing to take part in the JOAT Battle Hip Hop. Artists are invited to improvise for a short time in front of the JOAT masters and the audience. The 16 best dancers chosen by the judges will take part in the battle at Club Soda that evening.

LE SPOT SESSION | August 29, 30, Sept. 1, 3:00 p.m.
Come and take part in or attend a free street dance practice. For dancers, it’s a time to get together, train and share with the street dance community. For the public, it’s a chance to see artists improvise hip hop, breaking, popping, krump and other street dance styles in a relaxed spirit.

Voyage Funktastique | August 29, 8:00 p.m.
A DJ set that will electrify your night! Voyage Funktastique is a radio show, a label, and a monthly night, dedicated to Modern/Boogie Funk.

CONCERT - MODLEE | August 29, 7:00 p.m.
Concert with MODLEE, an artist of Quebec and Jamaican origin, who has traveled between Quebec and the United States, and has been influenced as much by jazz, soul and R&B as by gospel and reggae.

BOSSY - Le Get Down | August 30, 12:00 p.m.
JOAT Festival invites you to “THE GET DOWN”, a ladies cypher and discussion highlighting women in Montreal’s Hip Hop community – led by the founder, Glo Romy, a Hip Hop dancer and director from Toronto. BOSSY celebrates women in street dance who keep the culture alive.

Montreal Loves Dilla | August 30, 8 p.m.
For an entire evening, a group of local DJs will liven up the Esplanade in tribute to legendary hip hop music producer J Dilla.

CONCERT - JoDOLO | August 30, 7:00 p.m.
Montreal rapper Jonathan-Ismael Diaby, better known under his rapper alias JoDolo, takes you into his musical universe.

JOAT Block Party | August 31, 5:30 p.m.
A celebration in the tradition of block parties – parties originally started in African-American communities to celebrate and socialize. With DJs Rita Spirit, IWonder, C.A. and Ayuban. The dance floor is yours!

Initiation au TURFING | August 31, 1:00 p.m. 
Introduce yourself to turfing with this free 60-minute class led by a professional dancer. Whatever your age or level, come and learn the basic movements of this dance style from Oakland, California. Turfing is characterized by rhythmic movement combined with waving, floor moves, gliding, flexing and contortioning.

Initiation au Krump | August 31, 2:00 p.m.
Introduce yourself to krump with this free 60-minute class led by Montreal Krump Alliance. Whatever your age or level, come and learn the basic movements of this style while having fun.

Initiation au Hustle | August 31, 4:30 p.m.
Catch the energy of the hustle, a ballroom dance that originated in New York City nightclubs in the 1970s. To the rhythms of Latin, disco and funk music, learn the basics of this social dance in a festive atmosphere. Free admission. For all ages. No experience required.

Initiation au street dance | August 31 & Sept. 1, 12:00 p.m.
Introduce yourself to street dance with this free 60-minute class led by a professional dancer. Whatever your age or level, come and learn the basic movements of different dance styles derived from street dance culture.

MKA Session | August 31, 3:00 p.m.
Join the Festival for a krump demonstration battle where Montreal krumpers take on Oklahoma turfers.

CONCERT - THE SHED | August 31, 9:30 p.m.
There’s never enough opportunity to get together in a festive atmosphere and celebrate street dance and our rich culture. The Festival looks forward to seeing you at The Shed, a concert fusing hip hop, jazz and R&B, 100% improvised.

DJ SET - Poirier + Charles Cozy | Sept. 1, 8:00 p.m.
A DJ set that will electrify your evening, with Poirier, Montreal musician/DJ/producer, and Charles Cozy, one of Montreal's most respected DJs, who has toured extensively in the U.S., Brazil and Europe.

JOAT Prelims Popping | Sept. 1, 4:30 p.m.
Come and see the pre-selection battle for dancers wishing to take part in the JOAT Battle Popping. All poppers are invited to improvise for a short time in front of the JOAT masters and the audience. The 16 best dancers chosen by the judges will take part in the Club Soda Battle that evening.

CONCERT - MIMO | Sept. 1 , 7:00 p.m.
Singer-songwriter and rapper Mimo was born in Montreal and is based in New York. The artist embodies poetry, repartee and storytelling on neo soul music with alternative R&B accents, a style she calls street jazz, placing her between singing and rapping, at the crossroads of her Montreal roots and her New York experience.

JOAT KidzBattle | Sept. 1, 1:00 pm
The festival opens its activities to all generations: Attend our all-styles dance battle for kids. Come along and discover the boundless creativity of the new generation of dancers. For the whole family!
