Jeanine de Bique is renowned internationally for the richness of her voice, extensive palette of vocal colours and amazing versatility, all reflected in this program consisting of both classical works and Caribbean folk songs. In this intimate recital, the Trinidadian soprano will embody several female figures of legend, performing among other works Strauss’s Ophelia-Lieder – after Shakespeare’s Hamlet – and Gretchen Before the Mater Dolorosa – a magnificent early work by Hugo Wolf.
