Born in Reykjavik, Iceland, Ragnar Jonasson is a master of the Icelandic thriller. After teaching copyright law at Reykjavik University and translating fourteen Agatha Christie novels from English to Icelandic, he started writing the Dark Iceland police series, publishing the first of eight volumes (Fölsk nóta) in 2009. The series features a young policeman, Ari Thór, newly graduated from the Reykjavik Police Academy. Ragnar Jonasson has also penned many other novels and short stories, and recently won the Mörda Dead Good Reader Awards 2016 for Nightblind (Mörk in Icelandic).
