Join dancer Nedge “Blak Kat” Valmé for an evening of disco dancing and waacking as she guides you through all the moves you need to know in an introductory dance lesson. To set the mood, Chanda et les voyageurs—a group of seven musicians featuring vocals, guitar, saxophone, bass, piano, and drums—will keep the grooves going throughout the evening. The dancefloor will be moving to the disco-fuelled sounds of their funk, soul, and R&B music… before DJ Pullinsky brings the evening to a close, spinning tunes until 10 pm!
New this year: drinks and snacks will be available at the Festival’s bars, as soon as the site opens at 6 pm. The animation and the initiation class start at 7 pm.
The L’Art en soi Festival features six festive “Soirées dansantes”—dance evenings—with introductory lessons on various styles of dance, live music, and DJs: samba, disco and waacking, Guinean dance, Bollywood, Latin dance, and country. Five “Midis dansés”—lunchtime dances—are also on the program to get you moving at midday! It’s a date, on the Esplanade at Place des Arts, from September 15 to 24!
