Experience the grand celebration of the piano during the Semifinal of the Piano 2024 edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal. The competition is heating up, and the level of play is even more intense.
Following the conclusion of a tightly-contested First Round, ten semifinalists return to the stage of Salle Bourgie on May 11 and 12 to present individual recitals lasting 45 to 50 minutes each. The repertoire for the Semifinal recital must include a minimum of three works: a complete sonata, the imposed piece by a Canadian composer, and a work of the competitor's choice.
New this year: Chamber Music comes to the CMIM. On Friday, May 10, the ten semifinalists present the first movement of a piano quartet with renowned chamber musicians from the OSM (violin, viola, and cello). Come and appreciate the musicality of these virtuosos as they interpret masterworks of the chamber music repertoire with other musicians.
