Enter the mesmerizing world of Bollywood at the TEMPÉO Dance and Music Festival. Much more than just a cinematic genre, Bollywood also involves mystical dancing rooted in Indian classical and folk traditions.
At the Bollywood evening on September 14, learn how to master the isolations, hand positions (mudras), fluidity, legwork, and theatricality of this colourful dance style with choreographer and performer Rameez Karim and his troupe, Veils of Bollywood. DJ Sunpreet Singh Uppal will be on hand to keep you on the dance floor for the rest of the evening.
The site opens at 6:30 pm with the activity and introductory lesson beginning at 7 pm, followed by live music and a DJ starting at 8 pm.
The TEMPÉO Dance and Music Festival consists of six festive dance evenings, each including an introduction to a particular dance style—Bollywood, Haitian, disco, 1960s, Latin, and Indigenous—accompanied by live music and DJs. Join in and get moving, on the Esplanade at Place des Arts, from September 14 to 16 and September 21 to 23!
