Afro-pop Saturday at Place des Arts
Get here early—as of 3 pm—to catch some Afro-pop sounds by DJ Empress Sissy Low, spinning a blend of West African and rave culture rhythms. Congolese Afro-soul vocalist Freddy Massamba and his musicians will take to the stage next, with polyrhythmic grooves that make for a fun fusion of several styles.
As evening falls, DJ San Farafina will continue to skillfully mix various genres before we dive into the Afro-futurist world of Kizaba, a pioneer of the Afro-Congolese electronic music scene.
Last up, multidisciplinary artist G L O W Z I will bring the evening to a close with a bold and exciting DJ set.
