Soul and R&B are the types of music that make you want to move, come from deep within, and are tinged with strong emotions. These styles are found in many of the shows presented at Place des Arts, in both French and English, creating a unique groove for audiences.

Soul and R&B blend seamlessly with the styles of different artists, which is why their rhythms are heard more and more frequently at Place des Arts. Artists from here and beyond are drawing inspiration from the genres in their own creative work, producing an even greater variety of sounds than ever before during the Francos and the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, but also during solo shows - who could forget the performances of stars such as Seal, Macy Gray and Aretha Franklin?
