Magic may be an international art form, but some of the most talented performers in the discipline, ranking up there with the world’s best, hail from right here at home. Celebrity magicians like Alain Choquette, Vincent C and Martin Rozon, to name just a few, have made their mark thanks to a distinctive, revitalized approach. They’ve dazzled Place des Arts audiences with their creations many times, as part of solo shows and even during the Juste Pour Rire festival, cleverly incorporating comedy into their routines and drawing on other performing arts disciplines.  

While sleight of hand can render adults speechless, it leaves younger audiences downright slack-jawed in astonishment. That’s why part of Place des Arts’ youth programming is dedicated to this art form that kids find so compelling, with magic incorpated into music, circus and theatre performances to conjure moments of sheer awe.
