An artist of multiple identities and undeniable talent, Lena Chamamyan captivates audiences with her crystalline voice and the sensitivity and precision of her interpretations. Skilfully combining the modes of Armenian elegy with Syrian traditional song, she gives the Oriental repertory an innovative touch, with jazz and world music beats, accompanied by piano, saxophone and other brass instruments.
A pioneer of Oriental jazz, which now bears her seal, Lena is a singer, composer and performer of great virtuosity. Recipient of many awards, she has performed on Europe’s most prestigious stages and is currently working on an album with French pianist and composer André Manoukian.
